The wolf and the ‘magnin’.

I Martinat - San Germano Chisone

I Martinat – San Germano Chisone

Once upon a time, long ago, a magnin, a tinker, lived on the Sangle – San Germano Chisone.
It tells how one day the magnin decided to go down to Martinat, another village of San Germano. Along the way he met a wolf.
Scared he stepped back, slamming and resonate the ramine, pots, he carried in a shoulder bag. The wolf was frightened and backed away him too.
But for his safety the magnin continued to resonate its ramine up to the village of Malana, where the wolf, that had continued to follow him, in view of the houses, disappeared altogether. Then, from there to Martinat everything was easy.

This and many other stories gave life to the long winter evenings in the stable, in the warmth of the cows.
Maybe make you smile today, but they are the soul of this land, the roots from which all started.
Wonderful roots.
